Riding wild turf at Uni

THIS year's UNIVERSITY OF NEWCASTLE BEACH PARTY will have a distinctly country flavour with the title of SURF AND TURF BEACH PARTY. The big gig, on Wednesday, October 21, will feature THE FAUVES, Californian punks SPRUNG MONKEY and Newcastle's own KABOOSE and LITTLE HORNET. Also joining the line up will be former National University Campus Band Comp winner ESKIMO JOE. There will be RETRO disco in 'the pavilion', also known as the Bar On The Hill.

Newcastle bands THE CISCO KIDNEYS and THE AUSTRALIAN BEEF WEEK SHOW will play in the 'back paddock', also known as the Hunter Lawn in front of the Bar On Hill.

As usual the basketball courts will be converted into the 'University Beach' courtesy of 140 tonnes of sand.

Old western movies and surf flicks will also be shown.

Tickets are $15 for students and $25 for guests.
