Bands go for vinyl

Who: Arm's Reach, Toe to Toe
What: Toe to Toe Gig
Where: The Cambridge Hotel
When: Thursday August 6, 1998

TWO Hunter 'hard core' punk bands have turned their backs on state-of-the-art digital audio technology and opted for analog, releasing their debut recordings on vinyl.

The groups will support Sydney group TOE TO TOE tomorrow night at the Cambridge Hotel.

Newcastle band ARMS REACH, features AMY DIBBLY (pictured) on guitar, LUKE DOLAN on vocals, KRISTY TATE on guitar, BEN DAVIES on bass and STEVE SQUELCH on drums.

The group recently released an eight track 'seven-inch' record on SHORT FUSE RECORDS, as did Maitland group FOUND MY DIRECTION. FMD vocalist DREW CHARNOCK said the group released its seven track record BEFORE THEIR TIME on RESIST RECORDS because the band preferred the sound of vinyl.
