TWO members of the band are yet to finish high school, but already the lads from Jinn have climbed their way into the national ARIA charts.

Last week the band's EP Part A debuted at number 92 on the singles chart simply through strong sales at a local music store over a two-day period.

The EP, which was recorded and mixed by Greg Stace, was released as a prelude to their follow-up Part B which is to be launched later in the year. Next up for Jinn is an appearance at the coming all-ages event Strike Back II which will feature established names such as Cog and In the Grey alongside more than 30 local acts.

It is not the first time Lewis McAulay, Jamieson Shaw, Alex Knight and Curt Spiers have shared the stage with big names.

In the past Jinn has supported The Herd and Frenzal Rhomb . Organiser Laurie Mahon said he hoped the event would give young bands like Jinn the chance to perform before a bigger audience and gain experience in a live setting.

``Many bands have been encouraged to form bands since the last Strike Back with the motivation that they might actually get to perform,'' Mahon said. Other acts playing include Angela's Dish, Braxton, Sleight of Hand and Rubix Cuba. Strike Back II will be held at Broadmeadow PCYC on March 25 from 1pm to 11pm. Tickets cost $15 plus a booking fee from Sound World or online at bigtix.com.au.
