THE death of Split Enz and Crowded House drummer Paul Hester last year was a tragic loss to the music industry.
Since that time a group of talented musicians have come together to celebrate his life and the music of Tim and Neil Finn in Don't Dream Its Over: Tribute to Crowded House and Split Enz. It will make its first appearance in the Hunter at Belmont 16ft Sailing Club on Saturday, January 28.
The tribute includes some of Australia's finest musicians performing the best tracks written by the Finns.
It features a house band comprising Rex Goh (guitar), Steve Bull (bass), Jon Howell (drums) and Lyndsy Paige (keyboard) with songs performed by Floyd Vincent, Raoul Graf, Brett Winterford and Andy Gordon. Don't Dream Its Over: Tribute to Crowded House and Split Enz is a two-hour show that ranges from early Spilt Enz material through to all of Crowded House's biggest hits.
Tickets are on sale at the club. Call 4945 0888 for more information.
