COUNTRY music star Charlie Landsborough is to return to Australia.
He will embark on an East Coast tour which will take in Hexham Bowling Club on Sunday, February 5.
Landsborough has established himself as one of the most remarkable characters in British music.
Now in his 60s, Landsborough's singing career only took off after his 50th birthday.
Prior to breaking into the music world, Landsborough led a varied and interesting life taking the long road to musical success.
He dropped out of school in his early teens and spent four years serving in the British army.
Other occupations included working in a factory, as a postman, a grocery store manager, a teacher and almost playing with The Beatles.
Since his breakthrough hit What Colour Is The Wind was released, he has toured internationally, recording albums in the UK and Nashville.
His music has been recorded by the likes of Pat Boone, Daniel O'Donnell and Foster and Allen.
He has received four British Country Music Awards.
Landsborough's new album My Heart Would Know is set for release next month to coincide with his Australian tour.
His previous trips here are a testament to his enduring popularity, with many performances selling out well before he arrived.
Landsborough will be supported by Star Maker finalists Mark Tempany and Alison Hams . For tickets phone the club on 4964 8079.
