WORLD musician Nayda Golski will give an encore in Newcastle this weekend following her successful show last year.

Golski will be back at Tighes Hill Social Club on Friday night.

Papua New Guinean-born Golski and her band 101 Candles Orkestra performed at the club in December.

They won audiences with their blend of Balkan rhythms and European romance fusing soul, gospel, gypsy and jazz. when they performed at the club in December. Golski, who sings in Russian, Polish, French and English, has become an increasingly popular performer at events around Australia.

Recent highlights include performances at the Bellingen Festival, Sydney Festival and Woodford Folk Festival. She has also performed at Sydney venue The Basement. Golski recently finished recording two new albums, Crazy Moon and Heaven and Other Places. She has toured the UK, during which she headlined music festivals in Northern England, and performed several concerts at the famous Spiegeltent at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Golski was also invited to appear at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland last year.

Tickets cost $15 and are available at the club on 4961 1947. Golski will be on stage from 8.45pm.
