PETE Cornelius is considered a star on the Australian blues scene and at the tender age of 21 has already racked up an impressive list of achievements.

He has toured Australia numerous times, appeared at all the major blues and roots festivals in the country and performed in the US and UK.

Cornelius was awarded the Best Blues/Jazz Guitarist Award at The Frankston International Guitar Festival and also won the Blues Guitar Award at Goulburn.

His skill with the guitar and as a singer-songwriter has been drawing praise across the country.

Last year was a good one for Cornelius.

His last album with band The DeVilles, Creatures of The Night, received three nominations in the Australian Blues Awards. He also released a collaborative album titled Freerange with Chicago blues performer Steve Arvey .

Cornelius has returned from overseas to promote his latest solo offering, Gonna' Burn, which was recorded mid-last year in Hobart.

It features 12 tracks and the multi-skilled Cornelius performed all instruments and vocals on the album. He also produced it and co-mixed the album with Stuart Long .

Cornelius and his band and will perform at the Hotel Premier, Broadmeadow, on Sunday from 5pm. Entry is free.
