SPORTING wigs and costumes more dazzling than a mirrorball in an electrical storm, FABBA will transport you back to the decade of flared pants and bouffant hairdos this weekend.
FABBA will pay tribute to the music of ABBA at Mayfield Ex- Service's Club on Saturday night.
The tribute group was founded by Anthea Johnson in 1996. It originally began as a two- piece which became successful, touring extensively across Australia and overseas before disbanding in 2001.
But with ABBA's popularity remaining strong, Johnson decided to get back to the stage and held auditions for a new FABBA.
Johnson is now joined by Robyn Larymore, Tim Johnson and Danny McCabe in FABBA.
``We take the music and songs that ABBA made famous, add some entertaining dialogue and cheeky audience involvement, dress it up '70s-style with amazing costume changes, lace up our platform boots and take you on a musical journey where even the Priscilla bus hasn't been,'' Johnson said.
FABBA provides a full live experience with the backing of a six-piece band and two dancers.
Songs featured in the show include Dancing Queen, Fernando, Knowing Me Knowing You, Waterloo, Ring Ring, Thank You For the Music, Take a Chance and Mamma Mia. Entry is free.
