ALMOST 30 years after its release, Bat Out of Hell remains one of the world's top-selling albums, with sales of around 40 million.
It was with this album in 1977 that Meat Loaf introduced the world to his big sound, which could not have made its mark without his collaboration with songwriter Jim Steinman. Next month the album will be revisited when Mayfield Ex- Services Club presents the Meat Loaf tribute Bat Out of Hell The Ultimate Meat Loaf Tribute. Starring Mark Oliver, the show takes an epic ride through Meat Loaf's greatest hits, from the heart- wrenching Two Out of Three Ain't Bad to the anthemic Bat Out Of Hell. Oliver bares an uncanny resemblance to Meat Loaf both physically and vocally, delivering all the hits with the backing of a six- piece band.
Bat Out Of Hell - The Ultimate Meat Loaf Tribute appears at Mayfield Ex-Services Club on Saturday, October 1. Tickets are available now at the venue.
