What: A Day On The Green
Where: Bimbadgen Estate Winery
When: Saturday November 12, 2005

JOHN Fogerty will grace the stage at Bimbadgen Estate's A Day On The Green this weekend.

The concert will form part of Fogerty's Australian leg of his The Long Road Home World Tour.

Fogerty rose to fame in the late 1960s as frontman of roots-rock band Creedence Clearwater Revival.

As the heart and soul of Creedence his visionary songwriting and skilful guitar work produced many hits including Proud Mary, Bad Moon Rising and Down on The Corner.

Since Creedence broke up in 1972, he has released six solo albums.

It has been seven years since Fogerty last toured Australia and New Zealand to support his Grammy Award- winning Blue Moon Swamp album.

Audiences can expect to hear some of the lesser- known songs among the usual crowd favourites.

Fogerty returned to his former record label Fantasy this year despite past problems.

Returning to the label has allowed him to include both his solo work as well as his Creedence work on his aptly named new album The Long Road Home.

He said the move meant he was reconnected in a ``soulful and emotional way'' with the songs he had been removed from for a long time.``It's been a great healing benefit for myself and my heart.'' Over the years Fogerty has developed a strong reputation for putting on a great live show. He said a concert should be spontaneous.

``It should be full of loads of spontaneity to the point you're so well rehearsed and you know what you think you're going to do but then you should come out and explode with energy.'' ``There should be energy at the highest level a human being can muster.'' Maintaining that level of energy could be attributed to Fogerty keeping himself in shape.

``I run six miles a day. I do it for the music and I want to be able to have all of the energy that I can come up with at a live show.'' Fogerty will be supported by Mark Seymour, James Reyne and Stephen Cummings . at A Day on The Green at Bimbadgen Estate this weekend. Tickets are available through ticketmaster.com.au or 136 100 as well as Rover Coaches on 4990 1699.
