Beats With Vitality Make Welcome Return

What: Vitalbeats
Where: Mbar
When: Saturday November 26, 2005

VITALBEATS will make a long- awaited return this weekend.

Newcastle's cream of the crop will be on deck, playing across three rooms at the Mbar on Saturday night with ARIA award-winners Pnau headlining with a DJ set in the main room.

Pnau comprises Nick Littlemore and Peter Mayes, long-time friends who broke through in 2000 when they picked up the ARIA for Best Dance Release with their album Sambanova. Despite being a dance act, Littlemore reckons their music is accessible to almost everyone.

``I don't really think there's an underground any more. There's just music again,'' Littlemore said.

``Which is great, it's probably more like what it was in the late '70s. Music is out there and you either like it or you don't.'' Littlemore has been busy promoting the release of their latest album, Again, throughout the UK.

A new album is due next year.

Next month the duo play the sold- out Homebake festival in Sydney.

Other highlights at Vitalbeats include a set from Sydney's DJ Naike and Newcastle's Skoob, who recently placed third at the Australian DMC Championships.

Organiser George Patsan said the event would cater for all tastes with styles of house, electro and hip-hop featuring throughout the night.

Advance tickets cost $20 from PDMS or $25 at the door on the night.
