IN a career that has spanned almost 25 years Austen Tayshus has performed before countless people around the globe.

The comic has performed extensively across Australia and has also played to packed houses in New Zealand, the UK, the US, Fiji and Bali.

Tayshus continues to add to his ever-growing tally of live shows and will bring his distinct brand of humour to Cardiff Panthers tomorrow night.

Since 1981 Tayshus has remained a strong force in the world of comedy, television and film.

He had his first triumph in 1983 when he released the track Australiana, which went on to become the highest-selling single in Australia, selling more than 200,000 units and going double platinum.

In 1997 Tayshus wrote and starred in Intolerance, a film based on a real experience that developed into one of his stage routines.

Intolerance won Best Film and Tayshus was named Best Actor at Tropfest.

Next year Tayshus will be appearing at the Down Under New York Australia Day event at Irving Plaza in New York City, performing alongside Colin Hay of Men At Work fame.

In between his live dates Tayshus has been co-writing his first lead-role feature film, titled There's Something About Jesus, scheduled to be released next year.

Tickets to Tayshus's show at Cardiff Panthers cost $15 and are on sale at the club.
