TOMMY Emmanuel's professional career has spanned more than 45 years.
It is an impressive feat and one that the Australian guitar virtuoso continues to add to, having recently been awarded three honours at the Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame Awards in Kentucky.
Emmanuel won Album of the Year for his latest release Endless Road, Thumb Picker of the Year and an induction into the Thumb Pickers Hall of Fame.
Traditionally an American musical style, Emmanuel is the first and only international artists to be honoured with such awards.
While in the US, Emmanuel was also invited to perform at Les Paul's Birthday Celebration Concert at Carnegie Hall in New York alongside the likes of Jeff Beck, Richie Sambora, Peter Frampton and George Benson. But he hasn't forgotten about his fans back home, having embarked on an extensive regional tour to perform songs from his new record.
Emmanuel will appear at Civic Theatre Newcastle tomorrow night.
