HIS live performances have earned him a faithful following throughout Newcastle and Sydney.
Now, after five years of hard work developing his sound and style, things are finally starting to pay off for Anthony Snape , particularly after taking out radio announcer John Laws' Rising Star Competition late last year.
Snape was ``blown away'' when he was named the best out of more than 2000 entrants.
It not only gave Snape widespread exposure but also led him to support soul singer Marcia Hines during a concert at the Tamburlaine Vineyard in the Upper Hunter.
He has been busy writing new songs and hopes to gain the interest of some major record companies.
Snape has emerged as a talented songwriter and engaging performer, both as a soloist and with his band Crash Avenue. He will perform with the band at MJ Finnegans on Friday night and Belmont 16ft Sailing Club on Saturday night.
Punters can expect to hear a great mix of contemporary covers.
