SINGER/songwriter David Ramsey returns to Newcastle tonight armed with a new album to launch during a performance at the Lass O'Gowrie. Titled Listener, the album features Ramsey's bluesy slide and finger- picking guitar work on 12 of the many songs that he has written over the last dozen or so years.
Joining Ramsey on stage will be his brother Reuben , who plays drums.
The show will act as a bit of a homecoming for the pair who were members of underground Newcastle band The Hanged Man in the early '90s.
Ramsey is currently playing solo shows on the North Coast, as well as playing guitar with Jimmy Willing and the Real Gone Hick-Ups, a popular act which recently supported The Whitlams and will next month tour with Machine Gun Fellatio.
Also on the bill at tonight's launch is Y-Polar and the Matt McFarlane Experience. Entry to the show is free.
