ANYONE who has seen Hat Fitz perform at one of his many festival appearances would know how well he can stir up an audience.
The quirky bluesman rolls into Newcastle this weekend to perform as part of Coalition of the Unwilling show at Tighes Hill Social Club on Friday night.
Fitz will share the stage with former Canned Heat frontman James T and Aussie bluesman Darren Jack. Fitz has become a must-see attraction for blues fans.
He grew up listening to his father's Chuck Berry and Muddy Waters records before he began touring, playing rhythm guitar with rock'n'roll band Stacked Deck. As an original member of Uncle Bob's Jug Band, Fitz honed his talent on slide guitar, banjo and mandolin before forming Hat Fitz and the Blooze Bitz with brothers Scratch and Itchy from combo Gravel Road. Fitz has a swag of album releases under his belt and has toured extensively across Australia and Europe.
Catch Fitz live at Tighes Hill Social Club on Friday from 7.30pm.
Tickets will be available at the door.
