IT has been a long way to the top but after almost three decades as a struggling singer/ songwriter, CHARLIE LANDSBOROUGH has made his mark.
And it is one song in particular that Landsborough can credit for transforming his life.
Landsborough found fame after penning the tune What Colour Is The Wind , which told the story of a young blind child's attempts to envision the world.
As a result of GERRY ANDERSON playing the track on radio in Northern Ireland, the song came to the attention of chat show host PAT KENNY in Dublin, who invited Landsborough to perform on his popular Kenny Show Live. The program received its biggest response following Landsborough's appearance and a week later his album of the same name was at the top of the Irish album charts. It removed GARTH BROOKS from the number- one position and fought off fierce competition from the likes of CELINE DION and THE CHIEFTANS. It was a dream come true for Landsborough and since then he has gone from strength to strength, becoming one of the biggest-selling artists in Irish music history.
He will perform with special guest ERIC BOGLE at HEXHAM BOWLING CLUB on Thursday, February 24, as part of his Australian tour.
Tickets are on sale at the venue.
