Tribute To Eagles Next Best Thing

Who: The Eagles Experience
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Friday March 11, 2005

IT has been almost 30 years since THE EAGLES released their first greatest album package.

The album, Greatest Hits 1971-75, was released in 1976 and has since become one of the biggest selling albums of all time, moving a staggering 26 million copies in the US.

The fact that people are still buying the album so many years after its original release is a testament to the band's popularity.

Those who missed the legendary band on its recent tour of Australia will have the chance to see what has been described as the next best thing when THE EAGLES EXPERIENCE perform at WEST LEAGUES CLUB next month.

It is no secret that Australian audiences love The Eagles.

When the band toured Australia last year, its Sydney concert sold out in less than an hour, leaving many fans who missed out on tickets sorely disappointed.

The Eagles have become icons on the rock scene with albums sales exceeding 120 million, four Grammy awards, five number-one singles and their Hell Freezes Over DVD being Australia's best-selling music DVD.

The Eagles Experience skillfully mixes the range of Eagles' songs, acoustics, music and vocals to keep even the biggest of fans satisfied.

The six-piece band specialises in duplicating the original sound of The Eagles, covering hits of the '70s through to the more recent sounds.

During the two-hour show the band will take you on a journey through history, covering the acoustic masterpieces of The Eagles such as Hotel California, Tequila Sunrise and Seven Bridges Road through to classics like Take It Easy, Life in The Fast Lane, Desperado and Heartache Tonight. The Eagles Experience started as the dream of DAVID THOMPSON 26 years ago.

Today Thompson is on bass and vocals and performs with CHRIS HARTLEY on keyboards, RICHARD BAKER on slide and classical guitar and vocals, BRENDEN SCHICK on drums, and vocals, STEVE QUINN on bass guitar and vocals and WARREN HUTT on guitar and vocals.

Catch The Eagles Experience live in Newcastle at West Leagues Club on Friday, March 11.
