AWARD-winning country music star Wayne Horsburgh is back in Australia and will play a series of shows around the region.
Australian-born Horsburgh arrived back in the country last month from his base in Branson, in the US.
He has called the US home since 1997 and moved to Branson to immerse himself in the city's rich country music scene where he has performed at event's such as the International World Fest .
He has become well known in Wisconsin not only for country music, but also for his performances in the polka music scene.
Born and raised in the Victorian countryside near Benalla, Horsburgh started singing at a young age and formed his own dance band at 11.
One of his early musical influences was Slim Whitman , hence his love for yodelling, which has become a real crowd-pleaser.
Horsburgh's big break in the US came in 1989 when he was invited to perform at Wisconsin's Hodag Country Festival and shared the stage with the likes of Emmylou Harris and The Oak Ridge Boys. Organisers recognised his popularity and booked him to return seven times.
He has since performed at many other county fairs, festivals and theatres throughout the US.
Horsburgh has not been forgotten back in Australia.
He has won four Australian entertainment MO Awards and notched up 18 nominations for excellence in live entertainment.
