COMEDIAN Steady Eddy has a well- worn formula for making people laugh: he talks about himself.
He said he talked about being a veggie, sex, drugs, rock and roll, whatever comes to mind.
It has been a tumultuous three years for Eddy, including the highs and lows of getting married and separating and moving from Brisbane to a farm just south of Gympie.
Born and brought up in Sydney, his 1990 foray into comedy was inspired after watching his elder sister Lee Widows perform at The Comedy Store.
He got his big break on the Midday Show when it was presented by Ray Martin.
The program was showcasing new comedians and Eddy was picked.
Since then he has toured Australia eight times, been on most TV shows and has performed at the Edinburgh Festival, Juste Pour Rire, the Montreal Comedy Festival and the Vienna International Comedy Festival.
He has achieved two MO Awards for New Wave Comedy Performer Of the Year and been honoured with the Young Australian of the Year Achievers Award, given to him by the Federal Government.
Steady Eddy will be on stage at Dora Creek Workers Club on Sunday.
