Celt With Tradition Flowing In Veins

Who: Finbar Furey
Where: Western Suburbs Leagues Club
When: Tuesday September 28, 2004

KNOWN for the haunting and beautiful melody of When You Were Sweet Sixteen , FINBAR FUREY's music is for the heart.

His songs effortlessly blend the ancient with the new and Novocastrians will have the chance to experience an evening of Irish magic, good humour, and the charm and wit associated with one of Ireland's great raconteurs at WESTS LEAGUES CLUB on Tuesday September 28.

Hailed as Ireland's Prince of Pipers, Furey has won every known uillean pipe title including three All Ireland Championships.

His Australian tour will feature songs from his new album Chasing Moonlight , which was named as IRISH MUSIC MAGAZINE 's Album of the Year.

Apart from being an accomplished singer songwriter, piper, banjoist, guitarist, flautist and tin whistle player, Furey is a brilliant raconteur and delights audiences with his storytelling.

Furey recently appeared in MARTIN SCORSESE 's film Gangs of New York and his music is featured on the soundtrack alongside U2 and PETER GABRIEL. This tour will see Furey accompanied by BOHINTA, the magical sounds of his son and daughter, MARTIN and AINE. Often compared to ENYA, Martin and Aine are both accomplished musicians in their own rights performing worldwide and recording many albums.

Tickets from the venue.
