WITH more than 100 thmillion record sales to their name, THE PLATTERS are without a doubt one of world's most successful vocal groups.

The Platters were one of the top groups of the 1950s and 1960s and among the first ``doo-wop'' groups to be inducted into the ROCK'N'ROLL HALL OF FAME. The first major Platters hit, Only You , climbed to number four on the pop charts.

Their follow-up song, The Great Pretender , shot to number one.

Hits followed with You've Got The Magic Touch, My Prayer, Harbor Lights, Enchanted, Twilight Time, Smoke Gets In Your Eyes and many more.

Three of the original members of The Platters, TONY WILLIAMS, DAVID LYNCH and PAUL ROBI, have since died but the music of The Platters lives on.

The group's soulful sounds and classic songs continue through the beautiful voices of TYRONE SWEET, HERB RAWLINGS, DARRELL SCOTT, PARIS RED and JOHN HAYNES. The group consists of singers who were chosen by original Platters management, THE BUCK RAM ORGANISATION, throughout the decades.

See The Platters performing all the classics at WESTS LEAGUES CLUB on Thursday, September16.

Tickets are on sale at the club.
