Who: Pat Capocci Combo
What: Rockers and Revheads
Where: Wheeler Place
When: Friday October 1, 2004

BOBBY socks, rockabilly grooves and classic 1950s cars will rule WHEELER PLACE when NEWCASTLE LIVE SITES' latest program, ROCKERS AND REVHEADS, takes over the space every Friday in October.

Rockers and Revheads will host jive dance classes, home- grown rockabilly outfits and fanatical classic car enthusiasts at Wheeler Place for an evening of fun, dance and nostalgia.

Creepers, full-circle skirts, hair wax for the quiff, picnic baskets and the desire to dance the night away are all highly encouraged elements of this free family event.

Each night will start with free dance lessons from professional instructors to the sounds of well-loved rockabilly bands who will perform live throughout the night.

The King of Rock'n'Roll, Elvis, will make an appearance, reliving some of his greatest hits and awarding prizes to the best-dressed dancers.

THE PAT CAPOCCI COMBO, WES PUDSEY AND THE SONIC ACES and THE RETRO ROCKERS will provide rockabilly numbers.

There will be a visual feast of cars from CALIFORNIA CRUISING and THE HOWLERS HOTROD CLUB, featuring Pontiacs, Chevrolets and Ford Roadsters.

Similar Newcastle Live Site events such as CARNAVAL LATINO and CARAVAN, held in Wheeler Place at the start of the year, drew crowds of up to 700 dancing the night away in a family atmosphere.

Rockers and Revheads will be held from 5pm to 9pm every Friday with the Pat Capocci Combo on October 1 and 15, Wes Pudsey and the Sonic Aces on October 8 and 29 and The Retro Rockers on October 22.
