String Of Hits Behind Carters

Who: Carter and Carter
Where: Toronto District Workers Club
When: Friday September 10, 2004

THE last time CARTER AND CARTER performed in the Hunter it was before a capacity crowd during HEXHAM BOWING CLUB'S HORSESHOE BEND ROUND-UP. Another big crowd is expected to turn out when the APRA award-winning country music duo returns to perform at the TORONTO WORKERS CLUB on Friday, September 10.

Since walking away with the 2004 APRA Music Award for Most Performed Country Work with their single Lead Me Home , Carter and Carter have not stopped.

Carter and Carter became the first independent country act to take out the award, overcoming the likes of LEE KERNAGHAN, TROY CASSAR-DALEY, PAUL KELLY and SARA STORER. `` Lead Me Home was one of those songs that took a lot of years to complete, seven in fact,'' MERELYN CARTER said.

``So to have it not only become a number-one hit but also take out awards including the 2003 APRA Independent Country Music Single of the Year, the Gospel category in the 2003 Musicoz Awards, and now to pick up the APRA Most Performed Country Work overall, it is just amazing.'' It adds to an incredible two-year run for Merelyn and David Carter.

The Carters have released an endless stream of hits and hope to have another on their hands with the release of their new single Play That Song. Doors will open at 7.30pm next week and the show will start at 8pm.

Tickets are $15.
