THE internationally acclaimed stage show TAP DOGS will make a homecoming next year.
Having toured the globe, the show will return to the city where it all began to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the production.
Tap Dogs started as a collaboration between Newcastle's Oliver- award-winning choreographer DEIN PERRY and designer/ director NIGEL TRIFFITT.
The 75-minute show will open at the CIVIC THEATRE NEWCASTLE in April, 2005.
The story, focused around six steel workers from Newcastle, premiered at the 1995 SYDNEY THEATRE FESTIVAL. By the end of that year Tap Dogs was playing to packed houses in the WEST END of London.
It toured the globe with four companies at a time between 1998 and 2003.
Perry contributed to the Opening Ceremony of the 2000 SYDNEY OLYMPICS with 1000 dancers performing before a television audience of 3.4 thbillion.
