Now cult porn film Debbie Does Dallas has inexplicably become one of off-Broadway's newest hit musical comedies.
DEBBIE DOES DALLAS THE MUSICAL is the stage version of the legendary 1978 porn film about high school teen Debbie Benton.
When Debbie receives a letter telling her she has qualified for the professional Dallas Cowgirls squad, the only thing that stands between her and the realisation of her dream is the money she needs to get to Dallas.
lw0 Debbie enlists her teammates to get jobs after school and on weekends to help pay for her trip but the girls quickly realise minimum wage jobs just don't pay enough. Featuring original contemporary musical numbers including Small Town Girl, Ten Dollars Closer and The Dildo Rag , Debbie Does Dallas The Musical received rave reviews in Sydney and has begun a national tour.
The show is directed by Newcastle's own Peter Ross, who directed the season of Grease The Musical last year at the Civic Theatre.
Debbie Does Dallas The Musical opens at the CIVIC THEATRE on Saturday, November 27.
