THE self-confessed ``boy next door your Mum wouldn't let you play with'', UJ NEILL, started performing in Newcastle in 1981 and has returned after living on the North Coast for 3 sfr1/2 years.
The brainchild behind popular bands such as THE FUNBUSTERS and THE TEX PISTOLS, Neill has had the chance to share the stage with the likes of ANGRY ANDERSON, JAMES TAYLOR and LEO SAYER over the years.
Throughout his career, Neill has picked up two STAR PROFESSIONAL MUSIC AWARDS, owned and operated his own recording studio, released several albums and produced a string of songs including movie themes.
Music always comes first in Neill's shows but as a seasoned entertainer he reckons you need to do much more than just deliver a great set.
``You've got to give them something extra. It's all about entertainment,'' Neill said. ``That's what keeps them coming back and that is what sells the show.'' Neill has earned himself a reputation as a real crowd-pleaser, performing the hits of TALKING HEADS, CROWDED HOUSE, SUPERTRAMP, BON JOVI, AMERICA, PEARL JAM, OASIS, LIVE, THE BEATLES, THE KINKS and COLD CHISEL. His repertoire is so diverse you could hear a TOM JONES number followed by a SEX PISTOLS classic or the occasional original tune.
Neill will perform at the BELMORE HOTEL in Maitland on October 23, THE ENTRANCE LEAGUES CLUB on October 29, TEA GARDENS HOTEL on November 6 and SALAMANDER SHORES on November 11.
