A FOCUS on delivering hits from the 1960s through to today makes DITTO a crowd favourite.

Formed in early 1999, Ditto is based around the core members of popular trio SCRIBBLE with the addition of a drummer.

The band formed with the aim of creating more of a ``live'' sound.

for punters and Ditto has proved to be one of Newcastle's most popular covers bands.

Performing a variety of tunes including today's Top 40 hits Ditto can please almost any crowd.

Ditto's repertoire includes the work of MATCHBOX TWENTY, BARENAKED LADIES, SMASH MOUTH, THE LIVING END, DRAGON, LENNY KRAVITZ, GREEN DAY, SCREAMING JETS, QUEEN and many more.

``if the band is having fun the crowd will have fun,'' the band said.

Ditto comprises ANDREW JONES on lead vocals, CHRIS KING on keyboards and backing vocals, BEN PETTETT on guitar and backing vocals and TIM BURNS on drums.

As well as performing in bands, Jones has had experience in theatre, starring in everything from 1930s musicals to playing the lead role in the rock opera Jesus Christ Superstar.

King also has extensive musical experience, with previous work in orchestras, showbands and jazz and funk acts.

Pettett has been playing guitar for most of his l e, has been involved in theatre, and has also toured Australia and Europe with brass bands.

Burns studied at the AUSTRALIAN INSTITUTE OF MUSIC and has been drumming for the past six years under the guidance of former LO- TEL drummer DARREN BROLLO.
