A DAY ON THE GREEN organisers have announced a second show for the Hunter Valley in its summer concert series. As well as JEWEL 's performance at BIMBADGEN ESTATE on February 14, A Day On the Green will host a special concert starring celebrated US singer RICKIE LEE JONES . Jones will headline the event at HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS on March 13 alongside special guests PETE MURRAY and DAVE GRANEY . It will be the second A Day On the Green event held at Hunter Valley Gardens following the success of the BEACH BOYS concert late last year. Jones exploded on the music scene in 1979 with her self-titled album featuring the irresistible Chuck E's In Love and the haunting Last Chance Texaco . It won five Grammy nominations including a win for Best New Artist, signalling the arrival of one of the greatest new songwriters of her generation. Touted as one of the best pop/jazz singer-songwriters in the US and intimate with TOM WAITS for a time her career has been notable for its audacious musical leaps.
