ALTHOUGH he is originally from Arkansas, blues artist BO JENKINS will be sporting the green and gold when he performs at CAVES BEACH HOTEL on Australia Day.
Renowned for his guitar virtuosity, Jenkins moved to Australia in 1994, where he now lives with his Australian w e VANDA and their family.
While it has only been in recent years that Jenkins has established himself as one of the premier blues guitarists on the Australian scene, his fan base in the US has been strong for many years.
Born and raised on a small farm in Bottleneck, Arkansas, Jenkins started out occasionally playing roadhouses and bars before his passion for music evolved into his profession.
Combining blues, country and rock, Jenkins became a regular fixture on the US circuit and went on to share the stage with the likes of ALBERT KING, REBA McINTYRE and B.

Although he enjoys playing a mixture of styles, Jenkins said that his true passion was in blues even though he did not discover it until later in l e.
When he did he felt an ``instant connection'' with it.
``It was in my blood all along, I just wasn't aware of it.
'' After many years of touring with other musicians he formed his own band in 1992, aptly called the BO JENKINS BAND , to gain more creative freedom and pen his own tunes.
Since moving to Australia Jenkins has formed a trio they will perform with him on Australia Day.
He also plays solo with acoustic guitar and stomp box.
He has released two albums, Razorback Road and Skin It Back .
