NEW Zealand-born vocalist JUDY ANNE BARNES will perform at BELMONT 16FT SAILING CLUB later this month.

Renowned for her captivating stage presence and finely developed voice, Barnes feels most at home on stage where she delivers a highly entertaining show with plenty of audience involvement.

She has considerable experience around the globe, playing to fans in Singapore, Hong Kong and Australia.

In her homeland she was a vocalist for the NEW ZEALAND ARMY BAND for three years and also performed with the NEW ZEALAND SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. Barnes first rose to prominence when she was named Top Female Vocalist at the prestigious GOLDEN GUITAR AWARDS in New Zealand.

Country music fans in New Zealand have also become well acquainted with Barnes through her regular appearances on the widely acclaimed International Country Music Show.

In 1987 Barnes arrived in Australia and performed in Tamworth with Australian singer-songwriter WAYNE HORSBURGH in the Love That Country Music show.

The show was such a hit that it was regarded as the most professional show at the TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL .

Her time in Australia has also seen her perform on programs such as Good Morning Australia, The Midday Show, It's Country, Burke's Backyard and 60 Minutes. She has also performed at the annual CAROLS IN THE DOMAIN.

As well as a career in music, Barnes has also branched into theatre work and appeared in productions of The Boyfriend and Barnum .

Her recordings include Careless Hands, Standing Ovation, The Magic of Christmas and Silver Wings .

As well as her solo career, Barnes regularly teams up with Horsburgh to tour in the package show Love That Country Music. Catch Judy Anne Barnes at the Belmont 16ft Sailing Club on February 25 in the LAKEVIEW LOUNGE from 11am.
