Group Rocks, Rolls With Punch

Who: The Amigos
Where: Beresfield Bowling Club
When: Friday December 10, 2004

IF you like to dance, there is a good chance you will like the style of Hunter-based band THE AMIGOS. According to bass player LEE BROSSMAN, the group may include music from the 60s but there is nothing soft about its sound.

``What sets us apart is that our's always has a harder edge to it,'' Brossman said.

``It's definitely not a 60s style of band but a punchy rock'n'roll band with attitude.'' Lead singer GREG DOUGLAS and guitarist IAN MACKINNEY have been in the band for almost 20 years and Brossman and drummer MARK WALLACE have been in the band for almost a decade.

All have played music since their teens.

Punters can expect to take a nostalgic trip down memory lane when The Amigos hit the stage.

The Amigos play a great mix of tunes by the likes of COLD CHISEL, MIDNIGHT OIL, THE ANGELS, BRYAN ADAMS, JOHN MELLENCAMP, PEARL JAM, GREEN DAY and MATCHBOX TWENTY. They also have begun to perform their own tunes and have been encouraged by the response from its audiences.

Catch The Amigos performing at BERESFIELD BOWLING CLUB on Friday.

The gig starts at 8.30pm.
