The event will be a must for fans of Scottish and Irish music as it features a performance by Newcastle-based outfit ERIN, if which has become one of the region's most popular Irish bands.

Erin will feature alongside a Scottish fiddle and piano performance by ARIA award- winners CHRIS DUNCAN and CATHERINE STRUTT and THE HUNTER STRINGS CAMERATA which will present traditional songs and dances as well as original pieces and Christmas carols.

Lannen said she wanted to bring the benefit closer to those who may have missed out on the if past three which were held in the Newcastle area.

``There were so many people I knew who missed out that I really wanted to bring it closer to my home in East Maitland,'' Lannen said. ``When Erin was approached to do a carol service at the Lochinvar chapel, we agreed to combine both,'' Lannen said.

All proceeds go towards buying airline tickets to bring Sudanese refugees to Australia.

Tickets cost $20 for adults, $10 concession or $35 for a family pass from the Samaritans, Brunker Road, Broadmeadow, and St Joseph's Parish Office, King Street, East Maitland.
