POPULAR New Zealand tribute show the PINK FLOYD EXPERIENCE had quite an impact when it made its Australian debut in October.
It was a sell-out success.
The show is back on a more extensive tour which will be staged at CIVIC THEATRE NEWCASTLE on Saturday night.
The show has come a long way from its origins as a small pub gig devised by founding members DARREN WHITTAKER on guitar and vocalist STAN GRATKOWSKI .
The guys performed in a cover band in New Zealand and sometimes presented entire classic albums.
One night they decided to tackle Pink Floyd's legendary album, The Wall , and encouraging feedback led them to take the show a step further.
``Although there were only three of us playing, it really went off, so we thought maybe we could do something on a bigger scale,'' Whittaker said.
The Pink Floyd Experience is a spectacular three-hour tribute to PINK FLOYD , presenting the masterpiece albums The Wall and The Dark Side of the Moon .
