ACCLAIMED multi-platinum singer- songwriter PETE MURRAY will headline A DAY ON THE GREEN next year.

Murray and his band will perform at seven events around the country including BIMBADGEN ESTATE in the Hunter Valley on Saturday, February 19.

He will be joined by an all-star support cast featuring THE WAIFS, TIM ROGERS and Melbourne singer- songwriter CLARE BOWDITCH. Murray has had a phenomenal year with the platinum-selling Feeler album dominating charts for 15 months, with five hit singles including the latest Please , five ARIA nominations and two sell-out national tours.

, Murray has had a phenomenal year. Apart from an appearance at Sydney's HOMEBAKE festival on Saturday, these will be Murray's only concerts for the next four months.

The shows will cap off a bumper summer season for A Day On the Green, with 21 concerts around Australia headlined by ELVIS COSTELLO, BRYAN ADAMS, JAMIE CULLUM, PAUL KELLY and WENDY MATTHEWS. It will be the seventh A Day On the Green held at Bimbadgen Estate since February, 2002.

``It's been fantastic to see their music embraced and we're delighted to present them as part of A Day on the Green. They and Tim Rogers are outstanding live performers and our audiences are in for a real treat.'' A Day On the Green is a fully licensed event and food will be available on site.
