FORMER The Secret L e of Us star ABI TUCKER will perform the first of two shows in Newcastle tomorrow night during an extensive two- month national tour.
The tour supports the release of her debut album Dreamworld and it will see her perform more than 30 dates around the country.
It will be a change of pace for Tucker who has spent much of the past decade behind the camera in a variety of films and television programs.
``I am excited about touring across the country, having the chance to see places and perform in so many parts of Australia,'' Tucker said.
``Lots of the gigs are in places I've never been before.
'' Tucker will deliver an acoustic set at MJ FINNEGANS tomorrow night with guitarist SYD GREEN and return for a second show on November 27.
All of the songs on the album were co- written by Tucker along with SOUTHERN SONGS guitarist PHIL BUCKLE and producer DANIEL DENHOLM who has worked with THE CRUEL SEA and POWDERFINGER.
Although she has made a name for herself in television and film, music has always remained the prime focus for Tucker.
She entered music talent quests as a teen before she landed a role on Heartbreak High in 1993 and went on to star in The Wogboy, Angst and a The Secret L e of Us.
a Dreamworld was released on September 24 and features the single Stargazer .
