ONE of the region's biggest modelling competitions is back.
Following heats in Penrith and on the Central Coast, MODEL FOR LIFE hosted its first local heat at CLUBNOVA PANTHERS CARDIFF last night.
The prestigious modelling competition has returned bigger and better in 2003 with the competition moving further into Sydney and the NSW North Coast.
Last night's heat was one of 16 heats which will be held throughout the state in the lead-up to the grand final at CLUBNOVA PANTHERS NEWCASTLE on August 9.
For the past 14 years, Model for Life has given aspiring models the chance to strut their stuff on the catwalk for the chance to win fantastic prizes.
The competition is open to male and female models between the ages of three years to adults.
Last year, Model For Life attracted more than 800 competitors to the catwalk and was divided into four age categories.
This year, more than $40,000 in cash and prizes is up for grabs.
The adult category is offering a major prize including a $5000 account with the Commonwealth Bank, a $2000 voucher with First Choice Travel, a contract with Platform Model Management, a portfolio and much more.
As well as the chance to walk away with the Model For Life title, adult entrants have the chance to be named the Face of Suki.
The winner of Face of Suki will appear in local, national and international campaigns for renowned Newcastle salon SUKI.
As well as models and their supporters, members of the public are invited to get along and support Model For Life.
Guests can enjoy entertainment by INSYNC PERFORMING ARTS and also help raise funds to assist THE SPASTIC CENTRE OF NSW.
Entry to heats is $15 for adults, $10.50 for children under 16, and free for kids under five.
Tickets are available at the venue.
Look out for Model For Life when it appears locally at BELMONT 16FT SAILING CLUB on May 6, ClubNova Panthers Newcastle on May 20 and July 1 and 22, ,henb,8,9.2 MAITLAND TOWN HALL ,henl,9,9.2 on May 27 and ClubNova Panthers Cardiff on June 17.
