LOCAL band SANDPAPER may have basically been defunct for the past four years, but that has not stopped the band from dusting off its equipment to present the occasional gig.
The band are re-forming for the holiday season with a special show at the LASS O'GOWRIE this weekend.
Sandpaper will present a line- up of local favourites on Saturday night with ANDY MAC ACOUSTICA, MOTHERLOAD and THE DR T .
Formed in the mid-1990s, Sandpaper describes itself as a rock'n'roll band which plays original music with ``power, passion and conviction.
'' The band's sound leans towards the heavier side and it has supported the likes of SWERVEDRIVER, FRENZAL RHOMB and personal favourites FRONT END LOADER .
In 1994 Sandpaper released the demo Nowhere Fast which was followed by a debut seven- track EP.
To coincide with the reunion gig Sandpaper will re-release past material.
``Yes, we splurged out and printed another 20 copies of both of our CD releases being the Sandpaper self titled EP and the Greatest Hits Volume Two , so they will be on sale at the gig,'' the band said.
Although the band has no new material on offer, it said it would perform plenty of its early numbers.
``The Christmas show is a way to keep the Sandpaper dream alive even it is only for one night a year.
'' The show starts at 8pm entry is free.
