ALTHOUGH KATE MONROE is best recognised for her SUBLIME residency at HOME nightclub in Sydney, Newcastle has proved to be somewhat of a second home to the popular house DJ.
Monroe has been a regular fixture behind the decks at the MERCURY HOTEL throughout 2003 and she is set to return on Saturday to launch her new mix album.
``I am really pleased that we have been able to do our CD launch at The Mercury,'' Monroe said.
``I have been coming up each month for the last six months and the Mercury has become like my second home.
'' Titled The House Collective, the double album is a limited edition release that was recorded live at STUDIO thT .
It will be Monroe's third CD in the DOWN UNDERGROUND series.

She has held a residency at Sublime for the past seven years and supported the likes of BOB SINCLAR, DERRICK CARTER, MASTERS AT WORK and CJ BOLLAND .
Monroe will launch The House Collective at the Mercury Hotel on Saturday night.
