FOLK trio THE WAIFS will give a long overdue performance at Newcastle's CIVIC THEATRE in October.
The band was originally set to perform at the Civic gig in February but was forced to cancel the show at the last minute to support BOB DYLAN at NEWCASTLE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE.
The Waifs will finally return to play at Civic Theatre on October 1 with support from TRIPLE J Unearthed winner MISSY HIGGINS.
As well as touring across Australia and the US with Dylan earlier this year, The Waifs have celebrated a successful year following the release of the trio's fourth album Up All Night which is nearing platinum sales.
Formed in 1992, the trio has independently worked its way up and made history this year by becoming the first Australian band to perform at the NEW ORLEANS JAZZ FESTIVAL .
The band will wrap up a two month overseas tour before it kicks off its Australian tour in September.
Tickets are on sale from the theatre on 4929-1977.
