LISTENING to no less than 16 hours of music every day as a child, Billy Gilbertson was always destined to dedicate his life to music.
His love affair with music began in his teens when he received his first guitar.
From that day, Gilbertson has not looked back and went on to form two bands, The Loose Ends and The Movement. He performed around the country with big names like Johnny O'Keefe and The Easybeats, developing a reputation as a fresh young talent.
A talented performer, Gilbertson also held a gift for songwriting and was offered a five-year contract with EMI.
Gilbertson went on to form the popular duo Bill and Paul, who performed extensively around Australia.
After a stint in television, Gilbertson turned back to music and formed a new music and comedy duo named Australian Bred with Ray Crawford. The duo was a major hit around the world and toured Australia 15 times as well as giving performances throughout Japan, New Zealand, New Guinea and the US.
'I love to play, I love to sing, I love my life, and if I can tell some stories and share a few laughs, I can't lose,' Gilbertson said.
Gilbertson will perform a number of dates around the Hunter this month.
Catch Gilbertson at ClubNova Cardiff on Friday night, Wyong Golf Club on Saturday night and Stockton Bowling Club on Sunday night.
