WHEN IAN COOPER first picked up the violin at age four, he could never have imagined the wealth of talent he would gain on the instrument.
Cooper is now regarded as one of Australia's finest jazz violinists and has travelled the world showcasing his talents.
He made his first trip overseas as a touring artist at the tender age of seven, when he performed to sell-out crowds in the US, Hawaii, Japan, Canada and Europe.
The words 'child prodigy' seemed almost to be an understatement for Cooper's talents.
Cooper's style was compared to that of greats such as STEPHANE GRAPPELLI and DJANGO REINHARDT.
Today, Cooper shares the stage with mainstream performers such as TOMMY EMMANUEL, JAMES MORRISON, DON BURROWS and JACKIE LOVE. He has also had the opportunity to work alongside international artists including BARRY WHITE and GEORGE BENSON. Cooper has five albums to his credit and performs annually throughout Europe, New Zealand and Japan.
Cooper will perform at BELMONT 16FT SAILING CLUB today from 11am.
Entry to the show is free.
