IAN Moss is a true king of Australian rock.

As an integral part of Cold Chisel and a successful solo artist, Moss is sure to attract a strong crowd when he performs at Kurri Kurri Workers Club on September 27.

Born and bred in the outback town of Alice Springs, Moss became a star when he moved to Adelaide and joined Cold Chisel.

Performing huge hits like Khe Sahn and co-writing hits such as Bow River, Moss and the boys have gone down in history as one of the most successful Australian groups ever.

Moss sang on numerous Cold Chisel tracks, but his main role in the group was playing guitar.

Often regarded as Australia's best guitarist, Moss went on to have a successful solo career when Cold Chisel ended.

After spending five years out of the limelight, Moss returned in 1989 better than ever with the huge debut hit Tucker's Daughter. The song hit the top 10 for 11 weeks and stayed No 1 for two weeks, selling more than 73,000 copies.
