Local DJ Ready to Mix it up for National Radio

Who: Auxillary

TUNE in to Triple J on Saturday night and check out the skills of local DJ Dan Matthews, aka Auxilary. Out of 240 entries Australia-wide, Matthews was chosen as one of four DJs who will mix up a set on the national broadcaster after he submitted his work to the Noise festival.

The national festival continues throughout October to celebrate and promote the work of young Australian artists.

The festival was open to people across the country aged 12 to 25 and accepted artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers, designers, net heads and visionaries.

Matthews will deliver a 90-minute set on Triple J's Mix Up. 'This is an awesome opportunity I have been given and hopefully from doing Mix Up I will be offered the chance to play at other venues and parties outside Newcastle,' he said.

'Being a long-time Triple J listener I've always aspired to play a Mix Up set.

'Having heard so many excellent DJs over the years I couldn't pass up the chance to follow the footsteps of some of Australia and the world's best DJs.'

Matthews will be serving up a progressive mixture heavy on the funky breaks, through to darker break-step styles.

'Basically my mix will be a brief overview of the different breaks styles,' he said.

Tune in to Triple J on Saturday night from 11.30pm to hear Matthews' set. Matthews was also chosen to mix up a a set on Alchemy Radio, which went to air last Saturday.
