AUSTRALIAN diva Christa Hughes is no stranger to the amber fluid.
Her intoxicating vocals are the voice behind the beer-guzzling female in the hit cabaret show Beer Drinking Woman. The entire show revolves around alcohol and is filled with sing-along drinking songs accompanied by the sounds of the piano.
Beer guzzling, accordion playing, costume changes and comic routines are just some of the elements that make up the hilarious performance.
Hughes certainly is a busy woman.
She is a member of groovy Aussie group Machine Gun Fellatio and has enjoyed success with the singles Not Afraid Of Romance, Mutha Fu*@a On A Motorcycle and the album Bring It On. Kathy Finn will bring Beer Drinking Woman to the attention of Novocastrians after she became so smitten with the show and its star that she organised to bring the show to Newcastle herself.
The show has received rave reviews all over Australia and Hughes's career blossomed while working in theatre, cabaret shows and bands throughout Europe, Asia and the US.
Beer Drinking Woman will appear at the Gallipoli Legion Club on July 18, 19 and 20 at 9pm.
