Mission to Dance Progressively

What: Foundation Parties
Where: Mission Theatre
When: Friday August 3, 2001

A NEW night dedicated to bringing the best in dance music to Newcastle will take off this Friday at the Mission Theatre. Foundation is a venture by Newcastle University's Electronic Music Appreciation Society (EMAS).

'It's going to be a good night,' organiser Scott Morris said.

'We are holding it to promote local DJs.

'We want to provide a mechanism for people who enjoy electronic music and give them access to hold good events.'

Scott says the club will offer something different to what Newcastle has to offer at the moment.

'We will play progressive house and trance, deep house and a bit of trip hop at the end of the night.'

Performing are local DJs Fragle, Owen and Blank. Scott said three more Foundation parties were planned for the future, with the second show being held in six weeks.

He said the sound and lighting of the show was unlike any other in Newcastle.

'Our aim is to exceed everyones expectations.'

The gig will kick off around 10pm and continue with no time restriction.

Entry is $3 or you can become an EMAS member and receive entry to the show for $5.
