FORMER MALAKYE GRIND frontman, Central Coast singer ROB SMITH is now at the helm of HEIFER on TRIPLE J high rotation.
The punk/rock, metal/groove band, playing in Newcastle tonight for the first time at SJ's Hotel, has an offbeat song MARK MARK lifted from a pre-release CD issued to Triple J in April.
Mark Mark features Thai lyrics and some brutally heavy funk and groove and has earned itself a devout following.
The song was also mixed with a strong collection of riffing metals which resulted in huge interest in the group.
Proving as much, Heifer recently broke the attendance record for a live gig at Sydney's Green Square Hotel.
The band's other material is renowned for its odd time signatures not to mention its abundance of heavy, riff-laden infectious tunes.
