Rockin' Rebels Roll out the Hits From Three Decades

Who: The Rebel Rousers
Where: Burwood Colliery Bowling Club
When: Friday November 3, 2000

YOU can't keep a great band of old rock'n'rollers down, and the REBEL ROUSERS are living proof.

The Rebel Rousers, playing this Friday night at the Burwood Colliery Bowling Club, are fronted by lead singer RAY SMITH, a star from the mid-1960s and 1970s.

Playing 'vintage rock'n'roll from the 1950s to the 1970s' The Rebel Rousers have been there and done it all before in the entertainment world.

Smith's band THE FOOTAPPERS toured successfully throughout NSW and, after lineup changes, became THE NIGHT RIDERS, supporting NORMIE ROWE & THE PLAYBOYS. His next band MRD was the first band to appear on NTN 9 in the Riverina in 1969, and Smith was on BRIAN HENDERSON'S BANDSTAND as a solo performer.

Under the stage name RICK FONTAIN, Smith moved to Adelaide where he was a performer on the ERNIE SIGLEY SHOW for three years.

After being 'bitten by the bug again' Smith has formed the Rebel Rousers with drummer JOHN REID, bass player KEVIN WESTBROOK, guitarist BARRY WELLARD and lead guitarist CHRIS HORDON. TE
