Rock 'n' Revs

Who: The Pink Chevy's
Where: Belmont Sportsmans Club
When: Saturday June 24, 2000

MEMBERS of rock'n'roll tribute band THE PINK CHEVYS are fair dinkum about the level of authenticity of their music and their automobiles. Playing at Belmont Sportsmans Club on Saturday, June 24, the show band loves classic cars and rare guitars. The group's quiver of rare guitars includes Matons, Rickenbackers and Gretsches, but it doesn't stop there. The group can often be found arriving at gigs in anything from a 1962 Chevrolet Belair and a 1960 FB panel van to a 1958 FC Holden sedan.

THE LADS: ONLY THE BEATLES surpassed their record between 1963 and 1967 for spending the most amount of time in the charts (187 weeks). We're talking about THE BACHELORS who have reformed and will perform at the Newcastle Workers Club on Wednesday, August 2. Original members JOHN STOKES, CON and DEC CLUSKEY will perform the groups hits including DIANE, RAMONA, I BELIEVE, MARIE, CHARMAINE, MARTA and I WOULDN'T TRADE YOU FOR THE WORLD.

STAR MAKER: TAMWORTH STARMAKER grand finalist MIKE WOODS will perform at West Leagues Club tonight. Woods has performed for the past two years in pubs and clubs along the NSW east coast and the Northern Tablelands. Woods was awarded the 'overall senior champion' at the Dubbo Country Music festival in April last year.

THE KINGS: THE amazing big band swing, r&b, jump and jive and rockabilly of THE SHUFFLE KINGS will return to Phoenix on Sunday afternoon. Featuring no guitars and mostly acoustic instruments, The Shuffle Kings are a group like no other.
