WHILE travelling in Scotland six months ago Newcastle musicians DAVID THOMPSON and MATT ROSS played many local watering holes plying locals with 'Australian vocal rock'.

'They thought they were all our own songs, the PAUL KELLY ones,' Thompson said.

'They really enjoyed the Australian songs and we've brought back a few Scottish ones as well.'

This Saturday night the acoustic guitarist and vocalists will perform 'unplugged' at the Wickham Park Hotel, with vocalist AMANDA LEONARD. Leonard, who also plays the bodhran and other percussion, joined Thompson and Ross in the trio INNUENDO six months.

She shares lead vocal duties three ways.

'It's mainly acoustic rock with an emphasis on vocal harmonies,' Thompson said.

'Everything from THE CORRS to KILLING HEIDI.' Most songs were popular contemporary tunes including SHERYL CROW, PAUL KELLY and even a different take on GREEN DAY song.

But there were songs from the 1970s that were strong on harmony, particularly AMERICA. Playing on the same bill are MELTING POT and SOJOURN TO ECSTASY.
